J.D. MATHIS-WHITE

Born and raised in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Senior Elder Jason D. Mathis-White is a young preacher of the gospel who has a genuine love and concern for people.  The youngest child of Joanne Adams and Paul Mathis, he was educated in the Prince George’s County Public School system and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from DeVry University.

Goal driven and ambitious, talented and gifted in many areas, both naturally and spiritually, Elder Mathis seeks to bring glory to God in everything he does.  He is an accounting professional who works as an Accounting/HR Manager at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites in Bethany Beach, DE.  In August of 2016 Jason completed real estate courses and was licensed as a real estate agent.  Singing is a passion of his, and he has been in numerous choirs and singing groups since the age of 3.  However, Jason knew that there was greater that God had in store for his life.  He accepted his call to preach when he was 16 years old and enrolled in Defenders of the Faith ministerial training classes after joining Life Impact Tabernacle in August of 2003.  He was licensed to preach on March 5, 2005 under Overseer Daniel D. Spruill after preaching his initial sermon “Stop Complaining, It’s Good.”  During his 11-year tenure at Life Impact Tabernacle Jason served in numerous ministries in various capacities including the Praise Team and Finance Committee.  He was the church clerk and special assistant to the pastor and also served as one of the chief adjutants to Pastor Spruill and Co-Pastor A. De’Wight Snowden.  Minister Mathis oversaw the Evangelism Ministry and Keepers of the Flame Usher Ministry.  He was appointed as the Director of the Youth and Young Adult Union and is the founder and coordinator of the L.I.F.E. HIV/AIDS Ministry.  Out of this ministry and a personal testimony of God’s grace was birthed his personal ministry, Victory Through Christ Deliverance Ministry.  In October 2014 Jason joined Acceptance Worship Center Ministry under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Elder Mark F. James.  It was here that then Minister Jason found emotional restoration and enrolled in The Mind of Christ Ministry School in Baltimore, MD to further his ministerial training.  After successful completion of his coursework Minister Jason was ordained to the office of Elder on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

In May of 2015 Elder Mathis-White relocated to the Delmarva Peninsula and currently resides in Millville, DE with his husband of 5 years, Minister Jason Aaron Mathis-White.  Being obedient to God and with the support and commissioning of Pastor Mark James the Mathis-White’s launched H.O.P.E. Deliverance Ministries in October 2015 where Elder Jason serves as Co-Founder/Senior Pastor with his husband.  He is now a published author and released his first book "Moments with Mathis" August of 2018.

Jason’s life is a testament to the power of God.  He knows that God has preserved his life for a purpose after escaping death on several occasions.  Borrowing the words of 2 worship songs, he lives by the words “I give myself away.  I give myself away so You can use me.  My life is not my own.  To You I belong.  I give myself, I give myself to you,” and “You thought I was worth saving, so you came and changed my life.  You thought I was worth keeping so you cleaned me up inside.  You thought I was to die for so you sacrificed your life so I could be free, so I could be whole, so I can tell everyone I know.”  This selfless young man has a heart for God and will praise God in the midst of every situation.  He strongly believes that all things really do work together for the good of them who love God and who are the called according to His purpose.  He desires to see souls saved and to see people reach their full potential in God.  There is a special place in his heart for those living with HIV/AIDS and he has raised money to help organizations fighting for a cure.  He believes that ALL people were created equal and that none, especially the church, should marginalize or discriminate against those who don’t fit into the traditional beliefs of “church folk.”

Elder Jason wears many hats in every area of his life, but realizes that he is a servant first.  He believes that there is nothing too hard for God and that if we just believe…ALL things are possible.  He believes as stated in Luke 4:18-19 that “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”  Elder Mathis-White has learned that we must have faith to accomplish anything in this life and is determined to believe God in all situations.  His favorite scriptures are found in Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” and Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Elder Jason Aaron Mathis-White is a native of the Washington Metropolitan Area, where he was educated in Lutheran and Baptist private schools. He graduated in May of 1997 from Laurel Baptist Academy where he excelled in his studies. Elder Mathis-White showed signs of ministry through music at an early age.  He has been singing since elementary school and has been a part of several groups and choirs. His gift of song was realized in the Methodist Church and has been a major part of his ministry and no doubt one of his passions. His other passion is rooted in customer service. Elder Mathis-White spent over 17 years in the Property Management Industry. His passion for people led him from being an Administrative Assistant to a Regional Property Manager.

Elder Mathis-White heard the call on his life at a very young age. Like many of us he ran from it for many years.  He sat under many great leaders that nurtured and sowed into him throughout his life. He left the Methodist Church and found home in the Pentecostal Church. Elder Mathis-White’s desire to worship and praise God openly and wholeheartedly began to flourish. In 2014, Spirit led, Elder Mathis -White fully accepted his calling and began his official ministry training from Mind of Christ School of Ministry in Baltimore, MD. While in training God ordained that he and Senior Elder Mathis-White relocate to the Delmarva Peninsula in May 2015. He is no stranger to the Eastern Shore as his family is from Westover, MD.  Even while starting a new job in a new location Elder Mathis-White continued and completed his ministerial training. He was licensed as a Minister in December 2015 & an Elder in March 2020 by Overseer Mark James of Restoration and Love Christian Fellowship of Washington, DC.  He has committed to continuing his training just as the Word of God states “study to show thyself approved”.

Today, Elder Mathis-White is the Co-Pastor at H.O.P.E Deliverance Ministries. Here his passion, profession and destiny collide. Elder Mathis-White is committed to Helping Others to Pursue Excellence in their lives. His career has also flourished since his move to the Delmarva Peninsula. Now a resident of the Bethany Beach area in Delaware, he is also working in the Multi-Family Housing Industry as a Property Manager.

Elder Mathis-White believes that victorious people really can help others pursue excellence. Our trials and successes are the catalyst to our destiny.  Revelation 12:11 says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” Your story can and will help others overcome.
